Here - Now

The sun writes ”Now – Here” on a firewall by the Centre for Social Sciences in Gothenburg. Kent Karlsson has drawn a world map made up of enamelled metal discs – so mounted that they ripple in the sea breeze. New patterns constantly being created. The image we see is a result of the interplay of wind and light and is produced in an ongoing NOW. A work of public art is not subject to opening and closing times. Angled mirrors attached to the map create reflections from the sun, different mirrors activating as the sun's position in the sky changes. The reflections are shaped as words – NOW, HERE. ”All projections of the world are false, as is this one”, comments Kent Karlsson.
